Community hub
Here you can find charity information, support sessions and contact details. If there is a charity you’d like us to work with and raise funds for, please get in touch.
Where the Spotlight shows raise awareness, the hub signposts to support links.
Our Community Hub runs in tandem with our Spotlight shows. Through the shows, women support women by sharing their journeys and revealing what helped or hindered their recovery and growth.
I feel enormously privileged to have been trusted with people’s personal narratives over the years. It has been humbling and an honour to be even a small part of their journey.
Where the Spotlight show raise awareness, the hub gives links to charities and professionals that members have recommended; I take their lead here.
Triumph over trauma
As the first Spotlight Show was an active partnership with my friend Lesley Sackey, it’s right that we begin here:
Lesley was still in the thick of a domestic violence situation. She has three wonderful, young warrior girls for whom she is the sole provider. She is also a talented boxer, being part of the first wave of trailblazers, but her 40th birthday was looming and the desire to have a final bout beckoned.
This is where my knowledge and experience linked in. Together we put on an absolutely sell out show, packed with female boxers. It was a celebration of our place in the sport.
Lesley and I included narratives of women who’d experienced domestic violence throughout the show (Ebony Jones, Nicola Adams). This will forever be one of my favourite events. Lesley has now set up her own Fight Forward Foundation which champions “triumph over trauma.”
